About us

The Anglo-Chinese Junior College Chinese Orchestra has been a team of dedicated and passionate young musicians with a goal of promoting traditional Chinese music. They have participated in various events and competitions and in recent years, have clinched two consecutive gold awards in the Singapore Youth Festival.
Our instructors include:

Conductor and Percussion teacher — Mr Shen Guo Qin (SCO Percussionist)
Xuan Yue teacher – Mr Li Bao Shun (SCO Concert Master and Xuan Yue Section Leader)
Tan Bo teacher – Ms Yu Jia (SCO Tan Bo Section Leader)
Guan Yue teacher – Mr Guo Chang Suo (SCO Guan Yue Section Leader)
Cello/Bass teacher – Mr Qu Feng (SCO Double Bassist)

Okay, now time for the enCOre pictures! Credits to Jeanette, Min Jie, Sok Hian, Jovita, Seng Chiy and Hnin for the photos. Firstly, we have the pretty ladies of Pluckings! Note: This is not to say that the rest of the gals in ACCO are not pretty! :)

Hmm, I shall not introduce all the ladies since it will take me quite long to finish. This is a photo taken in the dressing room during enCOre rehearsal! Jeanette, Ya Wen, Jia Huan and Hui Shan are our beloved seniors! Love them! :) Oh, and also thanks a lot to Jin Lin (guy power) for coming back to help us! :)

Next will be the Woodwinds Section! We have Felicia and Gerald, together with the mischievious juniors! Eh Zheng Jie, how come your hair is dyed brown? Hmm, this section has frequent section outings like going to Botanic Gardens and going to Chris's house to play Wii! :D

Thirdly, we have the Cello/Bass Section! We have 2 alumni who came back and practised with us, kudos to Jovita and Elgin! The rest of the seniors include Han Zi and Xiao Hui.

Forthly, we have Percussion! Kudos to Pei Yan for coming back! Kelvin, Shawn and Gwee Jie are the seniors in this photo, can you spot them? Sorry, I am turning nonsensical........ And percussion has GIRL POWER too last year after the seniors have graduated! :)

Lastly, for Strings, thanks a lot to Joyce for coming back and also thanks a bunch to Seng Chiy, Kok Wai, Dora, Jolene and Elise for guiding the juniors! :)

This is the photo of our rehearsal for enCOre. The background design was done by Hnin Hnin! :) This design was also the design on our enCOre tickets! In case you guys cannot see clearly, the slogan on the background is: enCOre, a night of legacy...

This year, we are also going to have a enCOre concert in June! Further details will be confirmed! Do stay tune to our encore-acco blog! :)
